JUST A THOUGHT | NYC

I've been thinking about NYC a lot lately. This is one of the only pictures I have of myself in the city and it represents a lot to me. I made one of my dreams come true on my own. After I got back, I was fully convinced that really anything is possible. Hope can go a long way. Dream, focus, and attain.

NIKE STADIUM NY PRESENTS: MAKE SOMETHING!! WITH ARI MARCOPOULOS

The power to positively inspire and motivate another person is an amazing thing. I watched this video over and over, all day, and I still found myself smiling everytime. It's a hard feeling to explain, but this two minute video is very special to me.

With the help of Vice Magazine photo editor Lele Saveri, legendary photographer and film maker Ari Marcopoulos teaches a group of kids in New York City the basics of photography and putting together a zine. Ari, Lele, and most importantly, the kids, get it done, all while keeping a strong D.I.Y. mentality.

The message in this and every other video in the Make Something!! series is obvious... MAKE SOMETHING! The only person that can hold you back is yourself, so if there's something you want, go get it!

In the first episode of Nike Sportswear's 1LOVE series, Theophilus London takes us through his Brooklyn neighborhood and shows us what makes it so unique.

Nike will be releasing similar videos for each of the four remaining boroughs, in a celebration of hoops, culture, and the Air Force 1 sneaker. Nike Sportswear is also releasing a limited collection of Air Force 1's representing each of the five boroughs. The sneakers were designed by DJ Clark Kent and will be available at 21 Mercer and select retailers in each borough.

I love Brooklyn. Need I say more?

WHERE IS DUMA?: NYC TOUR 2010 (PART 1)

This was my first time visiting New York. I don't think "excited" can even begin to describe how I felt when I got my ticket. I had no clue what I was getting myself into, but the bottom line is, NY exceeded all my expectations. NYC is without a doubt the greatest city I've ever been to. I didn't take as many pictures as I would have liked. This could be due to my camera acting up most of the time I was there...or I was just too busy living.

The flight was pretty smooth. I tried getting some reading done, but I was distracted by my lack of sleep and this Real Madrid - Getafe game, courtesy of Jetblue's personal Directv monitors.

To celebrate my first day in NY, my cousin and her roommate took me to their favorite neighborhood restaurant, Roberta's Pizza in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. My first taste of NY pizza was not disappointing. I know the pizza I ordered looks way too healthy, but it tasted great!

My second night in NY was spent in the Lower East Side, at the Staple Design x Oakley 35th Anniversary release party at Reed Space. Ever since I got really into street culture, I've respected and admired everything Jeff Staple and his team have done. Staple's collaboration with Oakley is a great example of design brilliance and their ability to constantly produce quality products. Check Freshness Mag's full recap of the event.

Reed Space was PACKED and it was about 150 degrees inside. No joke.

While making my way out the door for some fresh air, I got a chance to meet and talk with the man himself, Jeff Staple.

Everybody loves free beer! Too bad I don't drink.

Oh, and I thought it couldn't get any better! One of my all-time favorite producers was DJ for the night. Just Blaze!

MISHKA LOS ANGELES

Last year at the МИШКА sample sale in Echo Park, the guys were telling me they might open their LA store in that same spot. It's cool to see they did it. I've heard a lot of great things about their Brooklyn flagship store, so I'm excited to see what they're going to do out here. Grand Opening is Feb. 20 at 12p.m.
